And then God created fall and all its splendid colors

Our New Toy - And our last for a while

Our new shuffleboard table built by our good friend Steve Marti. We hope to spend many weekends and snowy winter days playing with any and all friends that can make it to our house. We promise we won't practice too much.

Apple Press 2008

Our annual Apple Press was another success. We pressed over 30 gal of juice. After filling 3 - 5 gal carboys for this winters apple wine and jack, we sent the rest home with the attendees. It was a beautiful day and we all had fun as you can tell. I can't tell you how much beer, wine and apple jack from last year was consumed, but it was plenty. After a bountiful potluck supper we went down to the meadow for a bonfire that was great. We even had a couple of very young princesses here.

Fall on the River

Kendal, Grandpa, and Mommy loved the rocks on the river today. Mommy and Grandpa even walked all the way across with no problem. The river is very low right now. Grandma loved it too, but was busy taking the pictures.

Fall Magic in the Woods

These are just a few of the things we are finding now that the forest floor is opening up. Unfortunately we did not have any puff balls this year. Missed them, as they are very good eating. It was just too dry the end of August and early September. Next year.

From Bugs to Spider Feast

The very small bugs with white wings were swarming in the front meadow in the morning. By the time we went for our afternoon ride in the woods they were food for the numerous spiders in their webs, such as the one pictured.
